EVENT TITLE: Miss Awoulaba Canada – 2nd edition

CONTEXT
Launched in 2011 by People Motherland Cultural Group of Organizations, Miss Awoulaba or “Queen of Beauty” is a celebration of elegance, is an expression of the feminine beauty with all curves in a healthy body. Miss Awoulaba is the leadership, the beauty, the self-esteem. This vibrant and unique pageant is exclusively for young girls and young women of size 16 and plus.

OBJECTIVES
1. To empower these young women for self-acceptance
2. To fight against anorexia, bulimia, obesity, bullying, suicide, and mental health
3. To educate on life-skills, health maintenance, self-awareness and physical health

DESCRIPTION
The 2nd edition of Miss Awoulaba Canada will be held in Toronto on Sunday February 19th, 2012 at the “Downtown Courtyard Marriott Hotel”.

IMPACT
The 1st edition of Miss Awoulaba Canada was very successful with over 250 people in attendance from a diverse background. For the 2nd edition, we expect more than 350 people.

The benefits are felt throughout the community. By entering this contest, young women increase their self-esteem, learn on parenting and to value themselves; avoid suicide, depression, and increase their knowledge on health.

TARGET MARKET
The target audience includes young women aged 16 to 29 from all cultural backgrounds who wear clothing of size 16 and up.

The success of an event of this scale requires diverse material and financial resources. In order to keep the ticket prices reasonable so that it can be accessible to everyone in the community who wishes to attend, we need your help.
