Miss Awoulaba 2012

Following the great success of the 1st Edition, the cultural Committee of People of Motherland and Miss Awoulaba Canada organizations announce the opening of registration for the 2nd Edition of MISS AWOULABA 2012, the authentic and unique beauty contest for young women and women of dress size 16+.

 

MISS AWOULABA contest aims to recognize and to celebrate woman beauty in all sizes and curves, while encouraging healthy eating, mutual respect and self-esteem. The contest is open to girls and young women aged between 16 and 29 years.

Health Canada published that ‘… hospitalizations for eating disorders have increased  to over 34% among young girls under 15 years and to 29% in young women between 15 and 24 years’  

 

MISS AWOULABA CANADA aims to fight peer pressure and combat anorexia & bulimia.

 

MISS AWOULABA 2012 will take place in February 2012 in Toronto, ON  and in March in Montreal, QC.

Grand Prizes : 1st place 1000 $ ; 2nd place 500$ ; 3rd place 300 $  plus other prizes & surprises.

MISS AWOULABA CANADA objective is to combat peer pressure, anorexia, bulimia, and mental health among this vulnerable group of young women of age 16 and up. Through Miss AWOULABA contest, the young woman of size 16+ is valued and celebrated for her beauty regardless of her body shape. She is inspired and educated on self-acceptance, self care and healthy eating. She is honored for her leadership and for involvement in the community.
